Adobe has released critical security updates for Adobe Reader and Acrobat. The company recommends downloading the updates as soon as possible. They fix a number of vulnerabilities, the most serious of which (CVE-2018-12848) allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary malicious code with the user’s rights when it opens a crafted document.
Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader DC users should upgrade to version 2018.011.20063 . The Classic 2015 version of these programs should at least have version 2015.006.30452 , to be sure. Acrobat 2017 and Reader DC 2017 should receive update 2017.011.30102 . The vulnerabilities affect Windows and macOS.
