Fools hands smear the table and walls – true, but if you do not smear, but paint correctly, that can look pretty cool. With the SketchAR app you will learn step by step how to paint beautiful pictures – on paper, on the floor or on the wall.
SketchAR is available for Android and iOS. You can either paint tutorials with pre-made images from numerous categories or one of your own photos in the app. SketchAR processes the photo into a comic-like image, where you can easily trace the lines.
The app, which supports both Apple’s AR Kit and Google’s ARCore, begins quite simply: paint four crosses for orientation on the sheet, then trace single strokes one step at a time and then move one step further. This is pretty quick in flesh and blood and you really only pay attention to the screen, the lines on the paper succeed by itself. A holder or a tripod, with which the smartphone is aimed directly from above on the paper, should be at hand when drawing on paper.
SketchAR is clearly arranged and modern.
Wall becomes canvas
It gets even more exciting when you use SketchAR to paint walls or floors. Then you can trace pretty big pictures step by step. You hold the smartphone in one hand, the pen or brush in the other hand. On the screen is always just the right section of the picture to see, you just have to trace. In the end everything will be – hopefully – put together to a great work of art.
However, the painting on the wall or on the floor are currently available only to those who use a Huawei smartphone. Anyone who installs SketchAR via the Huawei App Gallery will get all three modes; the Google Play Store version is only for drawing on paper. Too bad for all non-Huawei owners, but let’s face it: how often do you paint walls?
